BioTime Enterprise Edition:
Allows you to create unlimited number of company subsidiaries, include in them departments thus modeling real-world hierarchical holding organizational structure of your company no matter how advanced and complicated your organizational structure may be.
BioTime is installed and widely used in more than 800 companies all over the world.
BioTime serves the needs of enterprises on any scale. Small- and medium-sized businesses enjoy the efficiency and affordability of BioTime, its ease of installation and operation, as well as reasonable system requirements.
By means of schedules you can flexibly customize working days for both individual employees and the entire company. All deviations from the defined schedules will be highlighted in BioTime reports.
BioTime is a biometric time an attendance and access control system. BioTime is an extremely easy-to-use with an intuitive user-friendly interface. BioTime employs fingerprints as a main user identifier.
Large-scale businesses can use BioTime in widely-dispersed offices and branches, while centrally managing the system and being able to scale it as the company evolves.
For example, with the help of BioTime many companies have done the following:
Discard available card systems; integrate biometrics into existing enterprise and payroll systems; eliminate manual operations from the HR department’s daily routines; automatically export BioTime reports to existing enterprise systems; integrate biometrics with already deployed access control systems by means of Wiegand interface; generate consolidated reports both for a particular remote office and for the entire company; complete integration of time and attendance and access control systems; drastically boost labor discipline, increase productivity and streamline business processes.
BioTime offers you a complex solution allowing you to automate routine time and attendance tasks, streamline registration of employees’ clock-in/out events, facilitate enrollment of absences and business trips, effectively manage employees’ schedules and policies, etc. Using BioTime you will be able to control cash assets accrued by employees, run payroll calculation relying only on the actual hours worked, increase overall labor discipline and eliminate possible thefts.
The following tasks are things you’ll likely want to accomplish using BioTime Time and Attendance subsystem:
Create and manage schedules; create and manage company policies; create and manage company organizational structure; manage company employees; register events by means of BioTime Clock application; monitor employee’s clock-in/out events by means of BioTime Agent; manually register employee’s clock-in/out events.
Schedules allow to create various precise highly accurate and down to the minute shifts of every sort and kind. You can create calendar schedules, fixed or freelance schedules, shifted schedules, night shifts, etc.
In BioTime, policies are the special rules, which affect the clock-in/-out events and their representation in reports.
With policies you can:
Configure automatic shift ending options; manage schedule abnormalities logging; define lunch time calculations rules and registered events time rounding options.
Organizational structure in BioTime is a hierarchical structure which constituents are: company(s), departments and employees. Company structure management tasks include the following:
Creation of new companies (only Enterprise Edition) and editing information about already created ones; creation, editing and deletion of departments and subdepartments.
The people, who work at the company or at the enterprise (i.e. employees) are the primary characters and, of course, the mainspring in all engineering procedures in this company. To take advantage of the BioTime for time and attendance and access control, you should enroll data of all company’s employees.
Employee’s management includes the following tasks:
Registration of new employees and enrollment of their fingerprints; customization of employees access level; editing data of registered employees; termination of employment; changing employees positions; editing of employees positions and categories references.
BioTime has an unparalleled advantage over other typical time and attendance systems – it uses biometric fingerprint scanner for registration of employees’ clock-in/-out events. BioTime Clock is the application, which to full extent embodies this advantage allowing you to create so called “biometric event registration points”.
To register a new event, employees should place their finger to the attached fingerprint scanner. Employees can also use either their user names and passwords or proximity card readers to register events by means of BioTime Clock.
You can also configure BioTime Clock to be a checkpoint in the access control subsystem BioFortress. This enables BioFortress access schedules and passway rules to be applied for the BioTime Clock event registration.
BioTime Agent is an 'instant notifier' allowing quick and easy monitoring of all events registered by the BioTime system.
BioTime Agent will be especially useful for company heads and HR personnel who want to know exactly when a particular employee has come to work, has he/she been late or came earlier.
In BioTime it is always possible to manually register any event. The user-friendly BioTime Event Registration and Absence Registration wizards will guide you through the process in no time. BioTime operator (or any other employee with sufficient access level) can manually register events, absences and/or delete events registered earlier.
BioTime References will help you to create your own absence reasons and configure holidays and dayoffs in case of need.
Employee’s access control allows you to significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized entry of outsiders into office buildings, minimize probability of information theft, provide transparency of employee’s movements across offices, restrict and/or denies access to highly secured areas.
Only biometrics can provide truly efficient access control, for:
Unique genuine biometric identifiers are used instead of ever-forgotten/stolen cards, tokens, passwords; there is no need to buy new identifiers instead of stolen and/or broken-down ones; biometric identifiers will never expire, wear out and has no limitation by the number of applications.
BioTime will empower you with truly efficient biometric access control together with time and attendance features under the same roof. This combination will give you an unprecedented possibility to organize and maintain highly secure and efficient business processes in your company.
The following tasks are things you’ll likely want to accomplish using BioTime Access Control subsystem (i.e. BioFortress):
Create and manages areas; create and manage checkpoints and assign them to areas; centrally manage and configure all available Gate Server instances (Gate Server enables interoperation between BioTime and biometric access control devices); monitor employee’s movement through checkpoints by means of Watch Tower application.
You can use both biometric devices and card readers from various vendors to control access to your secured premises.
To deploy BioFortress you should complete the following:
Create areas and checkpoints by means of BioFortress Manager Application; configure passway rules and corresponding access schedules for areas and checkpoints (for example you restrict access to highly secured premises); connect and setup biometric access control devices using Gate Server Manager application; configure the display of registered events and create a working place for security personnel by means of a Watch Tower application.
The main goal of BioFortress areas is to help you model the framework of your organization maximally close to the real structure with all your areas (office premises), checkpoints (entrances or way outs) and other elements. You can also group checkpoints by means of areas.
Use new area wizard to create and edit areas.
Checkpoints allow you to create and configure entrance points to office premises (areas). This entrance points are equipped with biometric access control devices and will be used by company employees to access or leave secured areas. Use new checkpoint wizard to create and edit checkpoints.
When creating a checkpoint you should select the area, which this checkpoint will be assigned to. The areas can have many checkpoints (e.g. main entrance, fire exit, stairs, etc). The information about areas and assigned checkpoints is displayed in BioFortress reports and in Watch Tower application.
With passway rules you define access policies for specific secured premises. You can create an unlimited number of different rules both for individual employees and entire divisions and/or company.
Passway rules can be created both for areas and checkpoints. However, checkpoints’ passway rules have a priority over areas’ ones.
When creating or customizing passway rules you can take advantage of special access schedules. With access schedules you can specify exact period of time, within which access to the secured premises for specific employee (s) will be allowed/denied.
Gate Server is responsible for inter-operation between BioTime software and biometric access control devices. To centrally manage all installed Gate Server instances use Gate Server Manager Application.
In addition Gate Server Manager allows you to successfully perform the following actions:
Fine-tune configurations of all Gate Server instances, installed in the local network and connected to the Gate Server Manager; configure checkpoints and devices for each of the connected Gate Server instances; monitor each of the installed and connected Gate Server, start and/or stop them.
Watch Tower is fundamentally designed to enable visual control over employees’ activity on registered checkpoints and to analyze status of biometric access control devices installed and configured to work with the corresponding checkpoints.
Common Watch Tower user tasks include:
Monitoring employees’ movement through various checkpoints, visual check of employee going through control points; monitoring status of devices, configured to work with displayed checkpoint; a user can control a number and location of Watch Tower user interface elements, modify appearance of the main application window, add/remove monitored checkpoints, show/hide the list of company employees.
